Provider Selection
The employer can direct an injured employee to a physician for a one-time evaluation. After the initial visit, the injured worker chooses the treating provider. Self-insured employers choose the treating provider beyond the initial visit, and employees may not change doctors without written approval.
Managed Care Options
The use of managed care practices is permitted as long as they do not interfere with the employee's right to choose the treating provider in the case of employers who are not self- insured.
Provider Lists
Provider lists and directories may be utilized. There is no state-mandated posting.
